Eligibility: Eligible to work in the US; 60 course-hours into degree

Program: Los Alamos National Lab Supercomputer Institute
Location: Los Alamos, NM
Dates: TBD; probably late May – early August 2026.
Eligibility: Eligible to work in the US; incoming juniors or seniors preferred.
Applications Due: January 6, 2026

Program: LBNL Science Undergraduate Laboratory Internship
Location: Berkeley, CA
Dates: May - August 2026
Eligibility: US citizen or permanent resident enrolled at a US institution, or 2 years or less post-graduation.
Applications Due: January 7, 2026

Program: Los Alamos National Lab Quantum Computing Summer School Fellowship
Location: Los Alamos, NM
Dates: June 8 - August 14, 2026
Eligibility: Eligible to work in the US; incoming juniors or seniors preferred.
Application Due: January 11, 2026

Program: University of Maryland Applied Research Laboratory for Intelligence and Security (RISC)
Location: Primarily virtual, with in-person events in College Park, MD during the final week.
Dates: 10 weeks, May – August 2026
Eligibility: US citizens, graduating in Fall 2025 or later.
Applications Due: January 16, 2026

Program: NCAR Summer Internships in Parallel Computational Science (SIParCS)
Location: Boulder, CO
Dates: May 18 - July 31, 2026
Eligibility: Incoming juniors or seniors.
Applications Due: January 20, 2026

Program: NIST SURF program
Location: Gaithersburg, MD; Boulder, CO; or remote
Dates: May 27 – August 7, 2026, with alternate dates June 8 – August 21, 2026 and June 8 – August 7, 2026.
Eligibility: US citizen or permanent resident. First-years and graduating seniors are encouraged.

Program: Lawrence Livermore National Lab Data Science Summer Institute
Location: Livermore, CA
Dates: May 18 - August 7, 2026 or June 22 - September 11, 2026
Eligiblity: Enrolled undergraduate.

Program: Lawrence Livermore National Lab Computing Undergraduate Student Intern
Location: Livermore, CA
Dates: A subset of May 18 – September 11, 2026
Eligibility: US work eligibility.

Program: Lawrence Livermore National Lab Computing Undergraduate Early Internship

Eligibility: Students who are between high school and college. US work eligibility.

Program: CRA Distributed Research Experiences for Undergraduates (DREU)
Location: Varies
Dates: 10 weeks from May – September 2026; students and mentors decide specific dates
Eligibility: Undergrads at US institutions. Most funds are reserved for US citizens and permanent residents. Priority is given to students from underrepresented groups.

Program: Purdue Anvil Research Experiences for Undergraduates
Location: West Lafayette, IN
Dates: May 24 - August 8, 2026
Eligibility: U.S. Citizen or permanent resident enrolled as an undergrad at a US institution, graduating Fall 2026 or later.
Applications Due: February 16, 2026 (rolling, may close sooner)

Program: UIUC Center for Digital Agriculture REU
Location: Urbana, IL
Dates: May - August 2026
Eligibility: US citizens or permanent residents enrolled in a degree program.
Applications Due: February 16, 2026

Program: TACC Cyberinfrastructure Research for Social Advancement (NSF REU)
Location: Austin, TX
Dates: May 30 - August 1, 2026
Eligibility: Enrolled undergrads, 18+ at the start of the program. US citizens and permanent residents, with one additional spot for someone who doesn’t meet these criteria.
Applications Due: April 1, 2026 (rolling acceptances)

Program: LBNL/NERSC Computing Sciences Student Program
